This past weekend I visited Lake Como and it was nothing short of breathtaking. Como is a city at the southern tip of Lake Como. It's only about 40 minutes north of Milan so it's the perfect day destination for me. It's known for the Gothic Como Cathedral, a scenic railway, and a waterfront promenade. We spent the day sightseeing, boating, and exploring Como, along with Brunate. It was beautiful weather with not a cloud in the sky, so it was the perfect first experience in Como!  We started off our afternoon exploring the streets and architecture of Como. Every building is unique and some date back as early as 11th century.   I went on a Saturday so there were markets happening all over the city - the perfect spot to find souvenirs for you and your loved ones!  Beautiful fresh markets lined the streets as well! When arriving from the states, one would fly into Milan, Italy, and then from there catch a train to Como. It's quite simple and the train ride is only €5 one way from the central train station in Milan. www.goeuro.com/   After a couple hours of touring the city of Como, we set off on a boat to soak in the sights on water. If you plan on visiting Lake Como at any point, renting a boat can be quite expensive. However, a tour boat is a great alternative. If you have a bucket-list I suggest you add Lake Como to it! I was over the moon when I realized how gorgeous Como was; and once I got on the water it validated the claim that Lake Como being is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
